Redland Baptist Church (RBC) is prayerfully seeking our next Pastor.

Who We Are

Redland Baptist Church (RBC) is a grace-driven people for a grace-needing world, connecting the heart of Montgomery County with the heart of Christ where people GROW in the love, REACH in the name, AFFIRM in the body, CARE in the nature, and EXALT in the glory of Christ (GRACE)! Located in Derwood, Maryland, RBC is a multi-cultural, multi-generational congregation of over 500 members, affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist Convention of Maryland and Delaware, and the Montgomery Baptist Association. Since its founding in 1966 with just 21 members, the church has expanded to include a 13-acre campus, including the Recreation and Outreach Center (ROC), dedicated in 2011. Throughout its 59-year history, Redland has been led by four dedicated Pastors, each contributing to its growth and mission. RBC affirms the 1963 edition of The Baptist Faith and Message.

RBC remains committed to loving God, loving others, and serving Montgomery County and beyond through outreach programs, church planting, and mission teams sent across the U.S. and overseas. Its diverse congregation includes lifelong Baptists, newcomers to the faith, and members from various church backgrounds. With strong programs for all ages—children, teens, adults, and seniors—Redland Baptist Church offers a welcoming community where everyone can grow in faith and service.

Our Community

Just northwest of the bustle of our nation's capital and southwest of Baltimore, Derwood, MD is just about in the center of Montgomery County.  It’s considered a small town (population less than 2,000) with a pleasant blend of rural settings, residential neighborhoods with recreational facilities, and a wide variety of restaurants, shops and local museums to explore.

There is a wide variety of houses of worship in this small town that reflects the diverse socio-economic population of our neighborhoods (link to demographics). Our outreach efforts concentrate on the immediate neighborhoods and find that many will seek us out from neighborhoods beyond our mid-county locale.

Education opportunities that are available include public schools, (mcpsmd.org) attended by more than 140,000 students with a low teacher-to-student ratio. There are private and parochial schools, as well as, a locally thriving consortium of home-school based programs. Higher education can be found close by at Montgomery Community college and the University of MD in College Park with an extension campus just six miles from our parking lot.

With three major airports nearby, two interstates, and the Metro Red Line running through the county, getting around is easy. These efficient transportation options ensure you’re well-connected to Washington D.C. and beyond.
